CareCam

For parents

A live window into your child's day

CareCam gives parents a secure live view of their child's daycare classroom — from any phone or browser, during center hours. No app required.

  • Free for parents
  • No app download required
  • Live only — no recordings
  • Your room only
  • Encrypted stream

Video travels over HTTPS. No raw camera access exposed to the internet.

Your login shows only the rooms your child is enrolled in — nothing else.

  • Center-controlled hours

Access is only available during viewing windows your daycare has set.

  • No audio, no recording

Live video only. No archived footage. No microphone.

How parent camera access works

Your daycare handles all the setup. You just log in.

  1. 1

    Your daycare sets it up

The center director connects CareCam to classroom cameras and configures which parents can access which rooms.

  2. 2

    You get a secure login

You receive an email invitation to create a password-protected account tied to your child's classroom.

  3. 3

    Watch during approved hours

Log in from any browser or the CareCam app during the hours your daycare has approved.

  4. 4

    See only what's yours

You can see rooms your child attends. Other classrooms are not accessible to you.

What you can and can't see

Access is exactly what your center allows — no more, no less.

You can see

  • Live video of your child's classroom during center hours
  • All activities in the room — play, circle time, meals
  • Any classroom your child is enrolled in
  • From your phone, tablet, or computer

You can't see

  • Other classrooms your child isn't enrolled in
  • Any audio from the classroom
  • Archived or recorded footage
  • Cameras outside your approved access

Your daycare doesn't have camera access yet?

Many centers already have the cameras — they just need the software to share access securely with parents. CareCam works with most common IP cameras, with Center plans starting at $99/month. Most centers are live in less than a day.

Questions from parents

Can I watch my child at daycare on my phone?
Yes, if your daycare uses CareCam. You log in from any phone browser or the CareCam app and get a live stream of your child's classroom during center hours. No separate app is required — the web interface works on all modern phones.
Is the stream live or recorded?
Live only. CareCam does not archive footage or give parents access to recorded video. What you see is what's happening right now in the classroom.
What hours can I watch?
Your daycare sets the viewing schedule. Most centers make cameras available during operating hours — typically 7am–6pm on weekdays. Outside those hours, the stream is offline even if you're logged in.
Can I see my child specifically, or the whole room?
You see the full classroom camera view. CareCam doesn't offer individual child tracking or zooming — you see what the fixed camera sees.
Is the camera feed secure? Who else can see it?
Your login only gives access to your child's classroom. No one can access a classroom without being enrolled and authenticated. Streams are encrypted in transit and are not publicly accessible.
Can I hear what's happening in the classroom?
No. CareCam streams video only — no audio. This is standard for childcare streaming systems and avoids complications with audio recording consent laws.
Can I record or screenshot the stream?
CareCam does not offer a recording feature. Most daycare enrollment agreements prohibit parents from recording or sharing footage. That policy protects every child in the classroom, including yours.
My daycare doesn't have CareCam. Can I ask them to get it?
Absolutely. Share this page or carecam.io with your director. Center plans start at $99/month and often work with cameras the center already has installed. Many centers are live in less than a day.
